Rorabeck I & II Complex

Aftercare

It is the responsability of the surgeon to determine what is the most suitable postoperative care depending on each patient’s health condition.

Surgeons Tip
In general, aged patients should be mobilized as early as possible to prevent long term immobilization problems. In cases where primary stability does not allow for full weight bearing, partial weight bearing can be performed by the aid of frames during the first 6 weeks after surgery.
In a well fixed revision prosthesis with a cemented stem, early full weight bearing may be allowed. In uncemented revision stems, care must be generally taken within the first 6 weeks after the operation.
After periprosthetic fracture surgeries, continuous passive motion of the knee may generally be performed after consolidation of the soft tissue.
