Insertion Plate

The length of prosthesis as well as the fracture location should determine the length of the plate. If desired Plate Provisionals or Rulers can be used to determine the suitable implant length.
For this case example an  intra operative X-ray is not available. For the fixation of this fracture pattern the  NCB Periprosthetic Proximal Femur Plate has been chosen. After an appropriate reduction has been achieved the NCB Periprosthetic Proximal Femur plate was inserted.  The plate was inserted just below the vastus tubercle while lifting the vastus lateralis.  During insertion the proximal end of the plate was kept in continous contact with the bone to make sure that the plate is on the bone distally as well.
