Insertion Plate
For the fixation of this fracture pattern the NCB Periprosthetic Proximal Femur Plate has been chosen, because the NCB Technology allows for fracture reduction. After the incision is made the NCB Periprosthetic Proximal Femur plate is inserted just below the vastus tubercle until good contact with the bone has been achieved. During insertion of the plate the assistant surgeon should perform a ligamentotaxis in order to achieve a correct axial alignment. The applied axial traction is maintained throughout the whole procedure. During insertion the distal end of the plate was kept in continous contact with the bone to make sure that the plate is on the bone distally as well. The length of the plate has been determined with the help of a ruler.
