Insertion Plate

The length of prosthesis as well as the fracture location should determine length of the plate. If desired Plate Provisionals or Rulers can be used to determine the suitable implant length.
In the present case the NCB Periprosthetic Distal Femur Plate has been chosen because of the long spiral fracture pattern.  After a appropriate reduction has been achieved, the NCB Periprosthetic Distal Femur plate was inserted between the vastus lateralis muscle and the periosteum. During insertion the proximal end of the plate was kept in continous contact with the bone to make sure that the plate is on the bone proximally as well.
