Knee: Lewis & Rorabeck

Rorabeck I

A Rorabeck Type I Fracture is a non-displaced fracture and the prosthesis is intact.

Because of the high displacing forces a completely non-displaced periprosthetic knee fracture with a stable prosthesis is extremely rare.

Surgeons Tip
In order to allow for early mobilization an internal fixation should be considered. Literature indicates that early internal fixation gives a better result than with a conventional treatment[1].
